Oryctes rhinoceros Pheromone

• The pheromone emits a scent that attracts beetles, causing them to fly towards the smell and get trapped in the prepared trap.
• One packet can cover an area of 10-12 rai.
• It is effective for 2-3 months after opening (depending on the temperature; it evaporates faster in higher temperatures).
• This helps reduce the population of rhino beetles in palm plantations.
• Method for making a rhino beetle trap:  Use a 16-18 liter black bucket, and attach pieces of corrugated plastic board (40-60 cm high and 30-40 cm wide) to the bucket using wire. Secure the two pieces in a cross shape. Drill holes for hanging the pheromone and for drainage., Install the trap at a height of about 1.5-2 meters above the ground., When beetles fly into the black board, they will fall into the bucket., The beetles cannot climb out of the bucket., Regularly check the bucket and destroy the captured beetles.
